PayPal Scam

PayPal is one of the internets top ways to send and receive money electronically.

 

PayPal ScamIt should not surprise anyone that there are unscrupulous people waiting to exploit PayPal As a result, many people have setup such Paypal scams.

The PayPal scam is first carried out by sending an email to PayPal members. This PayPal email scam will state that your account needs to be updated or it will be suspended or deactivated. This message is then followed by a link to follow in order to update your information.

However, the link sent to you does not take you to PayPal but rather a look a like site which is run by the scammers. When you enter your PayPal id and information you are inadvertently giving these scammers access to your account.

There are numerous ways to protect yourself from this type of PayPal scam.

Ask yourself the following questions. If any of them seem suspicious then you may in fact be dealing with a PayPal scam.

Look at the email address your mail was sent to. Was it sent to your main email address?

When you click on the PayPal link does it take you to PayPal.com? If not then the link is most likely fake and a PayPalscam.

Does the email begin with something generic, such as attention valued PayPal member?PayPal would likely address any mail to you with your full name

Does the email indicate your account will be cancelled or suspended if you do not enter your personal information?

Does the email contain spelling mistakes or other grammatical errors?

As long as you treat any request as a potential paypal scam you will ensure remain PayPal scam free.
